thinking, “How can you be sure?” Jesus Christ
said:
“I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not
walk
in darkness, but
shall have the light of life” (John
If you trust and follow the Lord Jesus Christ, how could you be mistaken?
Someone once asked Jesus: “Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal
life?” (Luke 10:25) How would you answer that question? What proof
would you give
to justify your answer: your opinion, your tradition,
your religious
beliefs, or something else? What did Jesus do?
He replied: “What
is written in the law [the Scriptures]?” (Luke 10:26)
The Lord’s answer tells us that the Word of God alone is sufficient to
show us the path
to eternal life. Also, the Apostle
Paul told Timothy:
“that
from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures,
which
are able to make thee wise unto salvation
through faith
that is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy
My friend, the Word of God is the most reliable guide that there is
and
according to the Bible, not only can you know, but also choose where
you will spend eternity:
“These things have I written unto you . .
. that you may
know that you have eternal life”
